They are a great way for you to teach yourself Spanish at home. Prices may vary, but you can usually also find these at your local second-hand store, swap meets, and sometimes even yard sales. Programs like these can be a valuable asset to learning Spanish in your own time without the use of a teacher or other educational aide.
